By now most of us have heard the phrase, “It’s in the cloud.” The Apple iCloud service, for example, has been around for a while, and most Apple customers are using it in some capacity. Apple’s service revenue reached over $7 billion in the last quarter, which is amazing, especially considering that much of that revenue is some derivative of its cloud offerings.

In our utility world, many organizations have not been excited to move mission-critical applications and their data to a cloud service, but as Bob Dylan sang, “The times they are a-changin’.”
