Senior Director Innovation & Chief Information Officer, Santee Cooper

Dom Maddalone is the Chief Information Officer for Santee Cooper, South Carolina’s state-owned electric and water utility. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the strategic technology direction and the continuous improvement and innovation programs.

Dom has more than 20 years in IT leadership in industries including healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, and utilities. In 2013 Dom joined ProBuild, one of the nation’s largest suppliers of building materials, as Vice President of IT Infrastructure and Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Dom led the strategy, architecture, IT operations, and security that provided infrastructure services for ProBuild’s workforce of more than 10,000 people and 380 sites.

Previously, Dom held an IT leadership position at Norgren, an engineering and manufacture firm of fluid control technologies, from 2010 to 2013, where he managed Norgren’s global IT infrastructure and transformed his group into a worldwide technology services organization, enabling and leading business priorities. Prior to joining Norgren, Dom held leadership and management positions in systems engineering, systems modernization, ERP implementations, enterprise architecture, e-business, and IT strategy for Johns Manville and Great-West Healthcare. Earlier in his career, he held several IT positions in healthcare and managed care organizations where he was responsible for applications development and support, infrastructure management, and telecommunications.

Dom holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Drake University. He also holds a master of business administration and a master of science in information systems from the University of Colorado.
