SHANNON PAULSEN
Director – Enterprise Forward, Madison Gas & Electric
Shannon Paulsen is an 18-year utility veteran who just joined the MGE family in Madison as the Program Director for the Enterprise Forward Strategic Transformation. Her prior years were all spent at Kansas City Power & Light in various positions within Delivery, Engineering, GIS, Field Design, Systems Implementation, Project Management and Information Technology. She was most recently the Sr. Manager IT Strategy & Services reporting to the CIO and was also leading the Technology Integration Office for the proposed Westar Energy merger. Her responsibilities included long term strategy, planning, and business enablement, the Program Management Office, leadership over the company’s large IT/Business Transformation Roadmap execution, Business Relationship Management and Account Planning, Chair of the IT Steering Team, Project Request Methodology and Ownership, Strategic Contracts and Vendor Partnerships, Asset Management, Division Processes and Procedures, Balanced Scorecards and Metrics, and the company’s Telephone, Radio, and Microwave infrastructure.
Shannon is highly involved in several local and regional programs to support women and girls in STEM including serving as the Central Exchange Women In Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine (WiSTEMM) speaker’s chair. Shannon is passionate about women’s leadership, public education, and spends her free time volunteering through local organizations in these realms as well as playing volleyball, golf, practicing yoga, traveling, and following the Kansas City Royals.
