JOHN LUCAS

VP Information Technology, Citizens Energy Group

Mr. Lucas is responsible for all areas of Information Technology and cyber security at Citizens Energy group since joining Citizens in 2009. Mr. Lucas led the system integration efforts of Water and Wastewater utilities from the city of Indianapolis. This has included the integration of the networks, General Ledger systems, phone systems, and billing systems. Mr. Lucas established the ID Capital governance and the IT Project Management Office to manage both large and small technology projects. Mr. Lucas has taken the lead on implementing AI and Data Analytics for Citizens Energy. He is responsible for the Cloud Strategy along with its implementation.

Mr. Lucas joined Citizens after seven years as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Harley-Davidson Financial Services. Prior to his tenure with Harley Davidson, Lucas was Senior Vice President, COO of CIT Group, Vendor Financing. Mr. Lucas was also one of the founders of Dell Financial Services.

Mr. Lucas currently serves as the Water/Wastewater Sector Voting Council Member and Chair of the Water/Wastewater Committee of Indiana Executive Council on Cybersecurity. Mr. Lucas is working with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, FBI, Indiana National Guard, the IEA, and many other state and federal agencies to strengthen the State’s critical infrastructure with the creation of the State of Indiana Crit-Ex exercises. Mr. Lucas was also the Chair of the American Gas Association IT Committee.
