TOSHIKAZU OKUYA

Director of Cybersecurity Division, Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry

Toshikazu Okuya is the Director of the Cybersecurity Division, Commerce and Information Policy Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) from July, 2017.

Mr. Okuya has started his career at METI from 1995. He used to be stationed in the U.S. 2010 through 2013 as a special advisor to METI at JETRO NY. After his return to Tokyo, He drafted the 4th Strategic Energy Plan at the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy. Then, He was in charge of security export control and inward investment control as the director of security export control policy division, and led the amendment of the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act to improve inward investment control regulation.

Mr. Okuya has studied at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
